MIDDLE SCHOOL

MIDDLE SCHOOL, Jr. High, 7th & 8th SLS Book has about 1/3 of SLS Core Strategies since many students are not
used to using an organized structured study system. This way, students don't feel overwhelmed, they learn good study
habits, deal with all the changes in their lives and get ready for High School. Middle School is often only 2 years.
Changes in students' lives – they change schools, go to school with many new classmates, may not have all their old
friends, change classrooms in school (don’t stay in the same class all day like in elementary school) have different
teachers for each subjects, take more subjects, subjects are harder, they want to be more independent, their bodies and
relationships are changing, etc.
Students learned some study habits in elementary school but they need better study skills and habits now with
harder subjects and many other changes. Students are beginning to think about what to do after high school and school
gets more challenging. Some students get overwhelmed with so many changes and start to loose interest in school.
SLS Study Skills help them grow into good study habits. Studies say that many students start thinking about going to
college in middle school. Knowing how to study for any subject helps more students think and plan to get some kind of
higher education after high school.

HIGH SCHOOL

strategies, ideas and habits to do well in high school and get higher grades. It has strategies that are more deeply
explained than those in Middle School. It also has new ideas and strategies specific for High School needs. It helps
students prepare to handle a 4-year college or other higher education schooling & training (1–3 year degree, license,
certificate, certification, etc)
High School has more subjects and harder subjects than in Middle School. If you've never used SLS books and
strategies before, this book gives you a solid system of many organized strategies for learning any school subject on
your own and to develop your talents. If you've used the SLS Middle School book, this SLS High School book gives
you many more strategies written for what you'll need in high school (400+ strategies). There's more subjects now, harder
ones and you're going through lots of changes in life too!

SLS PARENT BOOK
SLS Strategies – Get Set for Success
SLS PARENT BOOK helps parents, step-parents, adoptive parents, caretakers of teens, teen leaders or supervisors
etc. to help students with school subjects, improve grades, get good grades, graduate and get ready for higher education
(2-year, 4-year college or university, training, etc.). The ideas and strategies in this parent book coordinate with the
ideas and strategies in SLS Student Books, so parents and students can work together.
There are 2 parts to this Parent Book:
The SLS Basic Parent section helps parents with students who get low or average grades to get good grades (As & Bs).
It will help parents who are just starting to help their children and teens or have been trying to help their children and teens
but have not had much success. SLS helps parents help students get good grades, graduate from Middle School and
High School and get ready for higher education.
The SLS Advanced Parent section helps parents help students who get good grades to get top grades, take AP classes
take classes at the local Community College, get ready for the ACT or SAT, find ways to pay for college or other higher
education, learn how to apply top colleges or other higher education training. Students may get good grades on their own
or finally get good grades because they used tutoring services or used the SLS System Study Skill books.

get a 4-year degree and graduate on time. This book has many more strategies than are in the SLS High School Book
and has more developed strategies than are in the Community College Book with more examples, deeper explanations of
SLS Study Strategies. It also has new strategies specifically for the needs of students in a 4-year college or university
load. This book helps students who have not used the SLS System, and gives those who have used the SLS System
more fully developed strategies for learning and studying than they got in high school grades.
This book also helps students get ready for the demands of an advanced graduate education (MA, MS, MFA, MBA, PhD,
etc.) and handle hard subjects. Its especially written for young adult students (18 - 24 years old) and the examples and
structure of the books keeps in mind the needs of the young adult student. College courses require more reading, work,
papers, projects and electives. All of these require students to work more on their own and get serious about studying.

If you got good grades in high school, these strategies sharpen your skills and give you and advantage.

his or her career. It helps student in school learn classes to take that can help them advance a career, change careers
or just start out. It gives those just starting out on their first job or career some good iddeas to keep in mind about the
world of work, building their career, finances, networking, social contacts, pacing a career, etc. It gives those who are
already working and want to advance in a career, change careers or change jobs ideas about things to keep in mind.
The Career Book helps students make the most out of his or her experience in school while they prepare for a job or
career. It will not be the last career book they will probably read or use, but it can give them a structure and basis from
which to work, especially while they are taking the time to use the resources of colleges and universities to advance
It also gives ideas and strategies for those who will pursue an academic career in the primary, secondary schools
Community College, 4-Year University, etc.
It's not an all things to all people, but it is meant to help students make changes in his or her ATTITUDE and see
themselves, work, a career and how to balance them all from a different view. This continues and fits in with the
